First Access
Opening the interface
Section titled “Opening the interface”With the standard Compose file, open:
http://<your-server-ip>:5099If you are using the same machine as the Docker host, http://localhost:5099 works.
SelfHosted Nostos does not have the Hosted Nostos account/subscription layer. Anyone who can reach an exposed SelfHosted instance can reach the application, so keep it on a trusted/private network or add an appropriate access layer before exposing it publicly.
Adding your first books
Section titled “Adding your first books”Choose Add a book. The current acquisition flow supports:
- local EPUB, PDF, TXT, MOBI, MP3, M4A, and M4B files;
- physical-book identification and manual metadata entry;
- supported free-source imports for ebooks and audiobooks.
Nostos keeps notes, reading state, collections, concepts, and writing connected to the books you add. Concept relationships are created from your notes and links; the application does not invent cross-book concepts merely because a book was imported.
