Quickstart
Quickstart
Section titled “Quickstart”The standard SelfHosted deployment uses the official container image. One persistent /data volume holds the database, imported media, and local backup archives.
Docker Compose
Section titled “Docker Compose”Create compose.yml:
services: nostos: image: ghcr.io/christian-gennari/nostos:latest ports: - "5099:8080" volumes: - nostos-data:/data restart: unless-stopped
volumes: nostos-data:Start Nostos:
docker compose up -dThen open:
http://localhost:5099From another machine on the same network, replace localhost with the server’s address.
What the volume contains
Section titled “What the volume contains”The official image configures:
/data/nostos.db # SQLite database/data/books/ # imported book/media files and generated assets/data/backups/ # local .nostos backup archivesPersisting the whole /data root keeps these parts of the library together across container replacement.
First use
Section titled “First use”SelfHosted Nostos does not require a Nostos account or subscription.
Use Add a book to:
- upload a supported local book or audiobook file;
- identify a physical book;
