Volume Mounts
One persistent data root
Section titled “One persistent data root”The current official container uses a single persistent mount:
/dataIt contains the SQLite database, imported media, and local backup archives.
The committed Compose setup uses a Docker named volume:
services: nostos: volumes: - nostos-data:/data
volumes: nostos-data:Data layout
Section titled “Data layout”Inside the container:
/data/├── nostos.db├── books/└── backups/nostos.db— SQLite library database and its SQLite sidecar files when present.books/— stored book files, audiobook files, covers, thumbnails, and related generated book assets.backups/— local.nostosbackup archives.
Bind-mount alternative
Section titled “Bind-mount alternative”If you prefer a visible host directory, you can replace the named volume with a bind mount:
volumes: - ./nostos-data:/dataKeep that directory on storage with reliable local filesystem semantics.
A live SQLite database should not be placed casually on network shares or cloud-sync folders. See Safe SQLite Storage for the reason.
